EduQual, a UK-based awarding body accredited by SQA Accreditation (the national accreditation agency for Scotland) has approved Twim Institute as one of it’s centres! This implies that Twim Institute can now train candidates for UK-issued and accredited EduQual diplomas in areas relating to business management. Specifically, Twim Institute is authorized to provide training for the following programs:
- Diploma in Business and Marketing Management (SCQF Level 8)
- Diploma in Accounting and Finance (SCQF Level 11)
- Diploma in Business Management (SCQF Level 11)
- Diploma in Business and Marketing Strategy (SCQF Level 11)
- Diploma in Human Resource Management (SCQF Level 11)
The SCQF refers to the Scottish Credits and Qualifications Framework. SCQF Level 8 is an undergraduate-level qualification, comparable to RQF Level 5 or a UK HND. SCQF Level 11, on the other hand, is a postgraduate-level qualification, comparable to RQF Level 7 and on the same level as a masters degree.
It should be noted that the SCQF Level 11 diplomas fall short of a masters degree because they are evaluated at 120 credits while a typical UK masters degree has 180 credits. As such, the diplomas can serve as an excellent qualification for claiming credits towards the completion of an MBA. Learners are able to “top-up” in many UK universities to full MBA degrees by completing 60 credits, which would typically be a 6-month project. This also typically implies significantly cheaper costs to complete the MBA than would be needed for a complete program with the university.
