Earlier this year, we made an important strategic decision in the light of the realities of a post-pandemic world, and the intricacies of the Nigerian situation: We decided to proffer training and qualification options for our students to position them for relevance to the world as a whole, and not only the Nigerian market. In other words, Twim Institute would train and facilitate qualifications that would give people global options (global careers, migration options, alternative higher education in the hands-on/vocational learning space, etc). The British Computer Society is a UK awarding body operating under a Royal Charter that enables it to grant “chartered” status to IT professionals. It also offers Higher Education Qualifications which are Level 4, 5, and 6 diplomas in IT. They correspond to the first, second, and final years of a UK degree in IT. This makes them usable for direct entry to Masters study in the UK in several parts of the world, and are also evaluated accordingly by bodies such as WES (for Canada Express Entry). They are regulated by the UK government through the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
