You can select modules that match your chosen career path when you study the Diploma in IT – comparable to the second year of a university degree course. 

Who is it for?

The Diploma in IT is for students who understand the fundamental principles in IT and are ready to start developing specialist skills. 

What is the professional IT project?

If you’re not going on to study the Professional Graduate Diploma in IT, you’ll need to complete a 5000-word professional IT project as part of your Diploma in IT.

How Does Learning Take Place 

  • Classes are online, delivered through our learning management portal, and live classes on Zoom
  • Classes are a combination of live and recorded classes, ensuring that you can learn at your own convenience without taking out the “live classroom feel”.
  • You can interact with your instructor(s) during live classes or ask questions on the forum
  • You are expected to submit specific tasks with weekly deadlines.

Prerequisites 

  • You must have completed the BCS Level 4 Certificate in IT exams

Progression Options

After completing level 5, you may proceed to the Level 6 Professional Graduate Diploma in IT. You may also top-up to a bachelors degree from Level 5. For this option, you would have to complete a 5000-word project.
 

Certification

After sitting (and passing) the level 5 exam, you will receive the Level 5 Diploma in IT from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.

Please note that this exam is billed separately.

Registration Fees: N20,000 (new students only)

Registration Fees (Foreign students): 50 USD (new students only)
Tuition (Foreign students): 500 USD

When Can I Seat the Exam?

The BCS HEQ exams can be sat twice a year, typically in April and in October. You should aim to have completed your exam registration about 2 months before then. Please note that exam registration is not the same as registering for the training.
